The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a national theater program dedicated to the improvement of collegiate theater in the United States. It is a highly respected College Festival program sponsored through the Kennedy Center in DC. The college segment of the Kennedy Center started in 1969 and has expanded so that there are 9 designated regions, each sponsoring their own festivals in Jan/Feb each year to allow for the greatest attendance and interaction.
Focused on the celebration of diverse and exciting theatre, KCACTF involves students from more than 600 colleges and universities throughout the United States.
Besides workshops and keynote speakers, there are opportunities for student actors, designers, stage managers, etc. to present their work in competition for scholarships and feedback. Students attending have the unique and valuable opportunity of networking with fellow theater students, educators, and professionals in the field.
