Course Repetition

1. Course Repetition: Grade Alleviation

    1. A student who has earned a grade of 鈥淒,鈥 鈥淔,鈥 or 鈥淣P鈥 in a credit course at any College in the District may repeat the course for the purpose of grade alleviation.
    2. A student may repeat a credit course for purposes of grade alleviation three times. A student may petition the appropriate College appeals body for permission to repeat a course more than once, but the petition
      will be granted only based on a finding that unusual circumstances exist which justify a second repetition.
    3. Upon satisfactory completion of the repeated course, the last grade earned in the repeated course is used in the computation of the grade point average.
    4. In no case will the unit value of the repeated course be counted more than once.
    5. The permanent academic record shall be annotated in such a way that all courses attempted will be indicated on the transcript in showing a true and complete academic history.

2. Course Repetition: Special Circumstances

    1. Under special educationally justifiable circumstances, repetition of credit courses other than those for which substandard work has been recorded may be permitted.
    2. A student may petition the appropriate College appeals body to authorize course repetition consistent with the California Code of Regulations, Title 5, 搂 55762-3.
