Preparing to Transfer to a Four-Year University
First Steps
- Complete an orientation
- Meet with a counselor to explore your transfer options
- Identify a major
- Identify your GE pattern (IGETC or CSU GE)
- For UC & CSU transfers, visit for the courses required for your major
- For private & out-of-state universities, refer to their website for GE and major course requirements
Explore
- Research the colleges & universities you are considering transferring to
- Visit each institution鈥檚 website for their transfer requirements
- Create an educational plan with a counselor
- Attend Transfer Day in Fall semester
- Visit university campuses you are interested in attending
- Many universities offer online booking for tours
- Visit the 鈥淐alendar鈥� tab on the Transfer Center鈥檚 website to learn about transfer events on campus, including:
- Transfer workshops
- Campus tours to four-year institutions
- University representative visits to our campus (for appointments or presentations)
